your description indicates that you either did not follow the installation instructions (so that the folder is in a nonwritable directory/folder) or that you are not entering the serial number exactly.If you got to the serial number then the installer is intact. The serial number needs to be typed in. Let us know how this works for you.
After downloading the IBIS-Windows programme, and upon launching it, I have entered the serial number I've received. However, when I've filled in my name, I still couldn't click the Continue button, thus not being able to start using the IBIS at all. I am sure I did no mistake when copying and pasting (using ctrl+C) the serial nr. It seems to me there must be some fault in the software. I would also like to ask if the IBIS for Windows programme is a portable version, as it didn't install at all (I'd just unzipped the pack and copied the directory, then clicked the IBIS.exe and it just opened up the initial window where I was supposed to enter the serial nr. and my name).

The most common problem people seem to have with IBIS installation is where they place the files.
All of the IBIS files (app and folders) need to be in a user-modifiable folder/directory. If you know how to modify these "write" settings then simply do so; if not install IBIS on the desktop or in the Documents folder/directory.
This will allow your serial number to hold and the whole program to open.
